A deadline set by the City of Rochester for bids from potential buyers of the old Midtown Christmas Monorail passed this week, with no takers.

The monorail last ran in 2007 as a last hurrah before the city began demolition of the old Midtown Plaza. The city saved it and has kept it in storage since then at a cost of $6,000 a year.

City Hall says it will stay there until someone comes up with a viable plan to buy it and put it to use.
