The events will take place in Toronto over 4 days.
TORONTO, ONTARIO — Anticipation is building for one of the biggest weekends on the National Lacrosse League (NLL) calendar. In just two weeks, the lacrosse world will once again descend on the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario for the League’s annual Combine, Entry Draft, and Awards Ceremony.
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, the 6-round NLL Entry Draft will see 57 hopefuls take their first steps to becoming pro lacrosse players as they are selected from one of the nine teams in the NLL. Fans can catch all the excitement of the draft live on NLL.com.
The Knighthawks own two first-round selections as they have back-to-back picks at sixth and seventh spots. Rochester will conclude the draft by making picks in the fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds of the draft.
This year’s crop of players includes collegiate standouts like Ryan Keenan (Quinnipiac), Challen Rogers (Stony Brook), Bryan Cole (Maryland), Holden Cattoni (Johns Hopkins), Matt Hossack (RIT), and Warren Hill (Syracuse).
The NLL Entry Draft is one of three events taking place over the course of four days, which will begin with the NLL Combine from Saturday, Sept. 24 to Sunday, Sept. 25. For two days, some of the game’s top prospects will showcase their skills one final time before Monday’s Draft. The 2016 NLL Season Awards Ceremony is set for Tuesday, Sept. 27, with the league announcing winners from the pool of finalists along with All-Pro and All-Rookie Teams.
