A jury has found a Rochester man guilty of Second Degree Murder in the death of a Webster man just over a year ago.

Luis Nieves was convicted on charges of murder, robbery, weapon possession and conspiracy in the  shooting and killing 27-year-old Nicholas Welsher. Nieves was accused of providing the gun used to kill the victim during a robbery that went wrong on Lyceum Street. He plotted with Brandon Thornton, the man who actually pulled the trigger, and drove him to the Rochester neighborhood where they planned to rob the victim.

Prosecutors said that robbery plan turned into a murder when Thornton shot Welsher while he was visiting a friend in the city and killed him.
