President Trump didn’t win the resolutely Blue State of New York, and now a Siena Poll finds his popularity is even less in the Empire State. President Trump is viewed favorably by fewer than 30 percent of New Yorkers, and unfavorable by 65 percent. That’s even worse than his negative 34-61 rating in their last poll.
Only 27 percent would give Trump a positive job performance review, while 71 percent turn thumbs-down. They also give a similar negative rating to the Democrats in Congress, rating them just 21 percent favorable to 77 percent saying poor or terrible. They like Congressional Republicans even less, rating them 21-77 percent negative.
Most voters who identify as Republican say they have a favorable view of the president, but more than 70 percent of independents and 80 percent of Democrats say he’s doing a poor job.
