Governor Andrew Cuomo says New York is pushing to get every college student in the state vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the school year.

Cuomo says colleges and universities will soon get the vaccine in an effort to get their students inoculated. New York is expanding its vaccine eligibility rules to allow the vaccine for everyone 16 and older. It’s the younger demographics that are now driving spikes in infection rates as more of the older population gets their shots.

The governor said “we can beat COVID, but we have not yet BEATEN COVID, and it can flare up again.”
