New York is one of the states less affected by the partial government shutdown.
According to a WalletHub study, New York is 44th out of 50 states in loss of federal employment through the shutdown. It’s 47th in loss of federal contract dollars per citizen, 33rd in loss of access to state parks and 25th in loss of real estate value.
One of the major effects on the state is loss of access to SNAP benefits. New York is 13th out of the 50 states in loss of food stamps.
