Jalen Everett will go on trial for a second time in the Boys and Girls Club drive by shooting case beginning January third.
Everett was the second of three suspects to be convicted of murder in the shootings on Genesee Street that killed three young men and injured four other people. But Judge Douglas Randall set aside the verdict earlier this month after learning that a rogue juror had brought outside information into the jury deliberations.
The District Attorney’s office moved for a hearing to argue the decision, but the judge denied the request today and set a new trial date.
The DA is likely to appeal.
