A third federal indictment has been filed against the former chair of the Rochester Housing Authority. George Moses stands accused of 25 counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, federal program fraud, maul fraud, aggravated identity theft and filing a false tax return.
The superseding indictment says Moses and co-defendant Janis White defrauded Rochester Housing Charities. Moses, who also served as director of NEAD, the Northeast Area Development Association, used program funds for a cruise, tickets to a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, a Netflix and other family subscriptions, four guns and dental bills. Moses is accused of using $20,000 from Freedom Community Enterprises to buy a Florida timeshare, then used a Rochester city grant to pay back the agency.
Monroe County Legislator Rachel Barnhart is calling for an audit of the RHA and NEAD, saying Moses was able to loot the agencies for his own personal benefit.
