Now that the City of Rochester has decided the future of Midtown Parcel 5 on Main Street, City Council is about to take up plans for a new six-story, $20 million building on Midtown Parcel 2. That’s the former site of the Midtown Wegmans.

A proposal from Mayor Lovely Warren’s office calls for selling Parcel 2 and the adjacent pedestrian corridor to a partnership of Buckingham Properties and Morgan Communities. Partners Kenneth Glazer and Robert Morgan will pay $760,000 for the two properties.

They plan a six-story mixed-use building with retail and office space on the first three floors, and residential units on the top three. There will be outdoor space on Elm Street and the pedestrian walkway will be maintained. Construction is supposed to start within 18 months of council approval.
