A pair of Rochester homes went up in flames early Tuesday morning on Alphonse Street. One of them was a vacant house.

The fire was called just before 2:30 a.m. Fire crews arrived to find 415 and 411 Alphonse Street in flames. Both buildings were heavily damaged but crews were able to limit the damage to those buildings and the families in the adjacent houses were able to return home. Nobody was found inside the burning buildings and nobody was hurt.

An investigation is underway into what caused the fire.
