Nearly two-thirds of New Yorkers, 62 percent, think it’s too great of a risk to completely open schools across the state. The survey released Wednesday by the Siena College Research Institute says 32 percent believe we should bring the children back to school and do our best to mitigate the risks of spreading COVID-19.

By 66-to-27 percent, the Siena Poll finds New Yorkers say colleges should only deliver remote classes and not bring students back to campus for this fall semester.

Just over half of New Yorkers, 51 percent, believe the worst of the pandemic is yet to come. That’s down from 62 percent two months ago. Eighty-six percent are concerned we’ll face another surge of the virus this fall. Eighty percent are concerned someone in their household will get sick with the virus.

As New York continues to reopen, a majority are NOT comfortable with indoor activities. Fifty-eight percent are not comfortable dining out at a restaurant, 72 percent with having a drink at a bar, 73 percent would not go to a movie theater, and 65 percent would not go to a bowling alley.
