Two former Webster Thomas players are among the outstanding locals .

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The NCAA D3 lacrosse season is in full force and as a follow-up to the article two weeks ago ( NCAA D3 Lacrosse Senior Standouts), we wanted to write about some of the local D3 players that playing well in March. Here are a few of the senior stand outs who could be in a Rochester Rattlers uniform this summer.
Attack:
Jake Giudice (Brockport Golden Eagles): Played at Webster Thomas High School in Webster, NY. Giudice had three goals and one assist in win over Lycoming on March 25th. Giudice scored 33 goals and 13 assists in 2016.
Nathan Blondino (Salisbury Sea Gulls): Played at St. Mary’s Ryken in Leonardtown, MD. Blondino had two goals and two assists in win over Roanoke on March 26. He scored 18 goals and 30 assists in 2016.
Ryan Lee (RIT Tigers): Played at The Hill Academy in Sharon, Ontario. Lee had one assist in the loss to Clarkson University on March 18. Lee led the team with 90 points last season (65 goals and 25 assists).
Paul Chapman (Houghton Highlanders): Played at North Grenville District in Kemptville, ON. Chapman scored three goals and one assist in the win over Ohio Northern on March 18. Currently leads team with 24 goals this season.
Michael Mattson (Tufts Jumbos): Played at Taft School in Redding, Conn. Mattson scored one goal and dished out two assists in the win over Trinity (Conn) on Saturday. Currently second for Tufts with 19 goals this season.
Joe Eiskant (Nazareth Golden Flyer): Played at Vestal High School in Vestal, NY. He scored two goals and two assists in win over Elmira on March 25.
Jack Shumway (Ithaca Bombers): Played at Williston Northampton School in South Hadley, MA. He scored five goals and one assist in win over SUNY Oneonta on March 21. Set career record for the Bombers with 56 goals and 73 points last season.
Midfielder:
Ryan St. Croix (Clarkson Golden Knights): Played at West Genesee in Camillus, NY. St. Croix scored three goals in upset win over RIT on March 25. He has 20 points (16 goals and four assists) for the Golden Knights in 2017.
Brendan Bromwell (Salisbury Sea Gulls): Played at Cambridge S. Dorchester in Woodford, MD. Bromwell scored one goal and three assists against the Marymount (VA) on March 22.
Braden Wallace (RIT Tigers): Played at Abbey Park in Oakville, Ontario. Wallace scored two goals in loss to Clarkson University on March 25. He had 20 goals and 12 assists for the Tigers in 2016.
Luke Longo (Nazareth Golden Flyers): Played at Westhill in Syracuse, NY. Longo scored one goal in win over Elmira on March 25. In 2016, he scored 10 goals, 10 assists and picked up 76 ground balls.
Matt Mahalick (Keuka Wolves): Played at LaFayette High School in LaFayette, NY. Mahalick scored two goals and had one helper in loss to Oswego State on March 25.
Defense:
Rusty Dessert (Utica Pioneers): Played at Islip in Islip, NY. Dessert had two caused turnovers in loss to Ithaca on March 25.
Tyler Carbone (Tufts Jumbos): Played at Summit in Summit, NJ. Carbone had three caused turnovers in over Colby. He has 10 caused turnovers in the 2017 season.
JD Hall (RIT Tigers): Played at Arapahoe in Centennial, CO. Hall scored one goal and had three caused turnovers in win over RPI on Saturday, March 18. In 2016, Hall scored seven goals and five assists for Tigers.
Colin Blind (Brockport Golden Eagles): Played at local Webster Thomas (Webster, NY). Last season, he has 29 caused turnovers and seven points. He has 12 caused turnovers in 2017 (three caused turnovers against Lycoming).
Goalie:
Nick Strandholm (Clarkson Golden Knights): Played at Clackamas in Happy Valley, OR. Strandholm has played in seven games in 2017, making 78 saves with a .614 save percentage. Strandholm made 21 saves in win over RIT on March 25.
Colin Reymann (Salisbury Sea Gulls): Played at Mt. St. Joseph in Catonsville, MD. Reymann has played in ten games in 2017, making 56 saves with a .569 save percentage. Reymann made 16 saves in win over Roanoke on March 26.
Nick Nesbitt (RIT Tigers): Played at Salisbuury School in Burlington, Ontario. Nesbitt had 11 saves against Clarkson on Saturday for the loss. He played in 11 games last season, going 9 – 1. Led RIT with 121 saves in the 2016 season.
Jack Deragon (Ithaca Bombers): Played at Upper Dublin in Fort Washington, PA. Deragon has 47 saves in three games for the Bombers with a save percentage of .663. Played in 12 games (started in one game) during the 2016 season, making 16 saves with a .533 save percentage.
Tanner Swan (St John Fisher Cardinals): Played at Loomis Chaffee in Ridgewood, NJ. Swan had seven saves against Geneseo on Thursday for the win. He played in 16 games last season, going 7-9.
