Two National Science Foundation Grants adding up to more than $600,000 are on their way to the University of Rochester and the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Congresswoman Louise Slaughter’s office says $306,000 to the U-of-R supports research into more powerful, next-generation batteries. Three-D lithium-ion batteries will provide smaller, more powerful and longer-lasting batteries for everything from wearable tech to military devices.
RIT has just short of $298,000 coming to continue its work on sustainable energy. The particular project is a computer model that predicts the best ways of reducing atmospheric emissions at the lowest cost.
