Power is coming back on in parts of Brockport after National Grid had a major power outage Monday morning. It knocked nearly 18,000 of its electric customers out of service. The outages were centered between Brockport and Albion in Monroe and Orleans Counties.

The National Grid website reports nearly all of Brockport, plus the towns of Sweden, Clarkson and Hamlin without power, plus Clarendon, Kendall and Murray in Orleans County. The company hasn’t said what went wrong, but says it should be fixed by late noon.

RG&E and NYSEG are not reporting any problems.
