Rochester Police have charged a city man with second degree murder after they went to check on his girlfriend’s welfare and found her dead in the couple’s apartment.

Police say they went to check on the welfare of 49-year-old Cheryl Robinson on July 28th after reports that she hadn’t been seen for some time. They found her dead, the victim of a homicide in her residence on Central Park. An extensive investigation led to the arrest of 50-year-old Terry Williams, taken into custody yesterday by the Major Crimes Unit.

Police say Williams and Robinson were in a relationship.
