Rochester police say a 19-year-old city man was shot in the lower body about 9:00 p.m. Thursday on North Goodman Street.

The 19-year-old man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and officers were informed that a 15-year-old had also been shot and taken to the hospital by friends.

While they were still at the scene, officers heard gunfire nearby. That led them to Ackerman Street, where they found firefighters trying to treat an injured man and a large crowd trying to stop them. Police established control of the scene and allowed firefighters to treat the 33-year-old man who had been shot twice. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is recovering.

Police say the two incidents don’t appear to be related, but they’re still investigating.
