A body that deputies thought might have been that of a fugitive turned out to be a missing Springwater man.
A family out on a hike spotted a body Friday in a creek bed in Mount Morris. It was thought the body might have been David Clyde Morgan, the man who threatened Geneseo police with a gun and then ran away last July. But the Monroe County Medical Examiner has positively identified the body as that of 70-year-old James Lowery, who went missing in November.
Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty says his cause of death has not yet been determined.
