move-over-lawNew York State is launching a week-long campaign to raise awareness of the “Move Over” law, requiring drivers to slow down and move over a lane if they can do it safely when approaching working vehicles stopped on the roadside.

That includes police, fire and emergency services, tow trucks and construction trucks. It originally covered only first responders.

The state has launched an info campaign and has special enforcement patrols on the Thruway all this week.
