A Mount Morris woman has been charged with kidnapping, robbery and assault after what the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office says was a violent incident on Route 39 in Castile.
A spokesman says 30-year-old Zoraida Rodriguez and several other suspects abducted and beat up a 28-year-old farm worker. They allegedly lured the man out of his residence on Sunday evening, then pistol whipped, beat and robbed him. Then they drove him around for some half-an-hour until he was able to escape after the suspects pulled over on the roadside in Nunda in Livingston County.
The victim ran into a field where he was able to find help. He suffered non-life threatening head and facial injuries.
Rodriguez is being held on $250,000 bail after being arraigned in Gainesville Court.
The Sheriff’s Office says more arrests are coming as the department works to identify the other suspects.
