A prayer service for slain motorcycle rider James Garbach ended up in another hit-and-run motorcycle crash when a truck ran over one of the riders leaving the service.
Police say one of the riders did a burnout, spinning his rear tire and generating a lot of smoke. A pickup truck coming up from behind then struck the 22-year-old rider and threw him off his bike. The truck then ran over the motorcycle.
The truck left the scene but stopped a short distance away on Britton Road. Several of the other motorcycle riders chased the truck and there was a confrontation with the driver, a 56-year-old Gates man. Police say there were no arrests.
