A man riding a motorcycle tried to go around a Rochester patrol car early this morning but ended up running into it.
Police say an officer was investigating a suspicious condition near 700 Averill Avenue at about 2:50 this morning when the rider approached. The officer tried to flag him down, but the rider tried to go around. He shaved too closely to the patrol car and the motorcycle struck its front bumper, dumping him off the bike.
The 28-year-old man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for observation. Charges may be filed once the investigation is complete.
