A crash between a car and a motorcycle seriously injured an Ontario County man last night and also shut down Routes 5 and 20 in Hopewell for several hours.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says 58-year-old James Snyder of Hall was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after a car pulled into his path near Kearney Road. The collision threw Snyder from his motorcycle and he was found unresponsive at the scene.

Snyder is in guarded condition at Strong.

The driver of the car, William Alexander of Stanley, suffered minor injuries along with his 16-year-old daughter. No charges have been filed yet but the investigation continues.
