A mother and daughter were shot Monday night while walking home on Ripley Street. Ripley runs between Goodman Street and Webster Avenue in Rochester.
Police say the eight-year-old girl and her mother were both taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and are expected to recover. A third person suffered a minor wound from a gunshot and is being questioned about what happened.
Captain Frank Umbrino said the suspect fired from the street at an intended target, but missed and hit the mother and daughter instead. Both are relatives of the intended target.
