State Assembly Minority Leader Joe Morelle says $200,000 has been made available through the Assembly for increased security measures at the Jewish Community Center of Rochester.
The center in Brighton has gone through two bomb threats this month, prompting federal, state and local investigations. JCC Executive Director Arnie Sohinki says the Assembly funds will pay for critical security enhancements at the JCC campus.
The bomb threats to the JCC forced hundreds of people to evacuate, took up substantial law enforcement man-hours and prevented the JCC from serving as a warming station for people left without power by the wind storm.
