COVID-19 screening at the Monroe County Jail has turned up seven more inmates with the disease, making for a total of 15 so far.
All the COVID-positive inmates have been merged into a single housing unit and the sheriff’s office says it remains in close contact with the Monroe County Department of Public Health and the New York State Commission on Corrections.
The sheriff’s office says every inmate is temperature-screened daily, and so are all staff members before entering the jail.
