More grief is coming for the Lake Ontario shoreline residents. The National Weather Service has issued a Lakeshore Flood Warning beginning late Tuesday afternoon for Monroe, Orleans and Niagara Counties.

The warning runs from 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. Winds will start blowing from the Northeast, bringing water ashore along the coast. Pounding waves are forecast to hit up to six feet high Tuesday night, increasing shoreline flooding and erosion.

Forecasters say Tuesday night will be the worst, with waves gradually trailing down to three-to-five feet early Wednesday morning as the winds swing around again.

Lake Ontario remains just about an inch below its all time record high of 249 feet, although the Army Corps of Engineers predicts it will drop three inches this month.
