Just under 3,000 Rochester city school students will be returning to physical classes this week, leaving online learning behind for at least part of their week. Phase three of the Rochester City School District’s reopening plan begins Monday.

That includes grade 7-12 students who are returning to hybrid-in person learning, and the grades 7-8 students enrolled at all PreK-8 buildings. There are ten of those throughout the district. This includes students in the general population, as well as bilingual and special education programs.

About 325 special needs students have been on hybrid learning programs since February 5th.

The Rochester Teachers Association remains skeptical that teacher and student safety can be ensured as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
