The Livingston County Health Department says it’s still finding blue-green algae along the east shore and the southwest shores of Conesus Lake.
Blooms of the toxic algae were first identified on Tuesday and appear to have multiplied in the unusually calm and warm water. The health department is monitoring the blooms and warns that some blue-green algaes produce toxins that can cause skin rashes and gastrointestinal symptoms.
They say don’t touch anything that looks like a green paint slick or scum on top of the lake water, wash off after being in contact with the water and keep your dog away from it.
