The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a specially-equipped pickup truck in connection with a hit-and-run accident on December 15th in Penfield.

Jessica Fox was hit and seriously injured while carrying a gas can to a stranded car in front of 2691 Penfield Road. It was about 5:20 that evening and snowing when she was sent flying into the ditch.

Corporal John Helfer says after a close study of surveillance video they believe they’re looking for a Ford “Super Duty” pickup, likely an F-250 or 350. They believe they’re looking for a regular or extended cab, not a crew cab. Most experts who have looked at the video believe the truck is a Ford, but it could be a Chevrolet.

The truck has a  V-Plow with a scoop on the front, and some experts believe it has a Backrack, a box on the bed behind the cab for tools and warning lights.

The sheriff’s office is asking businesses along Gananda Parkway and Route 441 to report any sightings of such a truck via 911. They say no detail is too small
