The Monroe County Health Department reported a record number of coronavirus cases on Wednesday: 4,094. There were 1,995 new cases reported on Tuesday.
That makes 126,364 positive cases since the pandemic reached Rochester. 1,606 people have died of COVID-19 since then.
Officials say we’re still seeing a backlog in case results that began over the holidays, plus a surge in the use of home testing kits and directives to test students before they returned to school on Monday.
