Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo says the county and the Rochester Red Wings have a deal on a stadium lease at last.

At a news conference this evening, Dinolfo said the longest-running franchise in minor league sports will continue to make its home at Frontier Field. She and Red Wings CEO Naomi Silver jointly announced a long-term lease for the stadium, revolving issues which have held up signing the deal since last fall.

The International League had put a March 1st deadline on the county to sign a deal or it said the team would have to play its season in some other city.

Dinolfo says keeping Red Wings baseball in the community is a positive for keeping young people and businesses in Rochester.
