Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo says eliminating the county’s scandal-plagued Local Development Corporations put more than $35 million back into the county’s fund balance.

Those numbers are in the county’s 2017 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report released today (Thu). The report is generated by the county and verified each year by outside auditors who have given it a clean bill of health.

Dinolfo says the report shows last year’s budget was fiscally sound and balanced. The full report can be read on the county’s web page.
