Monroe County law enforcement authorities have announced creation of a Monroe County Heroin Task Force…a group that will collect intelligence on drug activity in the Rochester Community and use it to direct investigations and deploy police officers .
Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley says it will be a boost to her effort to prosecute drug dealers on homicide charges after every overdose death. Doorley says police need fresh intelligence gathered within 24 hours of an OD to to that.
Every law enforcement agency in the county will report the location and data on every drug arrest and incident to the Monroe County Crime analysis center, where it will be analyzed and a fresh intelligence report delivered to police every morning.
