Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley says she’s doing fine, and will be getting a stem cell transplant as the next stage of her treatment for multiple myeloma.
Doorley says she’s had a “long haul” and is still receiving chemotherapy for the cancer. She says her own stem cells will be harvested, she’ll be given intensive treatment to kill off the remaining cancer cells in her body and her stem cells will be reimplanted.
If successful, her bone marrow will be restored to normal.
