Monroe County is putting a new definition to the phrase “shot and a beer.”

County Executive Adam Bello said in a Thursday news conference that the county will host pop-up COVID vaccination clinics at five craft breweries around Monroe County. Anyone who gets vaccinated against the coronavirus at one of them gets a free beer, or a voucher for a drink.

The program is an inducement to get more people vaccinated as the numbers begin to slow down. It runs for the month of June.

If beer’s not your thing, the first 2,000 people to get the shot under the program get a $5 Dunkin’ gift card.

The shot-and-beer offer is:

  • Genesee Brew House, June 8, 4 pm to 8 pm.
  • Rohrbach Brewing Co., June 10, 3 pm to 7 pm.
  • Irondequoit Beer Co. June 19, 2 pm to 5 pm
  • Lock 32 Brewing Co. June 19, 12 pm to 4 pm.
  • Three Heads Brewing, June 21 3 pm to 7 pm
