New York’s DOT says the Mitchell Road Bridge over the Erie Canal in Pittsford is open to traffic again.
The single-lane bridge was closed in August after an inspection found badly deteriorated steelwork. Bridge maintenance workers have replaced the floor and support beams.
The bridge is now rated to carry 22 tons instead of nine.
