The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is adding a helicopter and drones today to its search for a missing Perinton couple. Robert and Mary Ross have not been seen since the end of January.
A missing persons alert has been issued for the couple, who are in their early 70s.
Investigators say Robert Ross went to a doctor’s appointment on January 30th and has not been seen since. The sheriff’s office began an investigation when Ross, who has brain cancer, didn’t show up for scheduled radiation treatments. Mary Ross was last heard from in a phone call with her son on January 29th.
Deputies found the couple’s house in Fairport empty and their cats left without food or water. Since then there has been no activity on the couple’s cell phones except for a ping on a tower near Ontario Beach Park, and no financial activity on their bank accounts.
Investigators are asking anyone who may know where the couple went to call 911.
Ross is 73, six feet tall, 200 pounds, is bald and has brown eyes. Mary Ross is 72, five-four, 160 pounds and has brown hair and eyes. Their white Kia Sorrento has a vanity plate that reads “BLUSTERY.”
