Greece Police say two missing children have been found in Montgomery, Alabama, some 48 hours after they were kidnapped from a foster home on English Road.
Dimitri Cash, 5, and Shekeria Cash, 3, were found under a blanket on the floor of a rental car that was pulled over by authorities Wednesday evening in Montgomery. Greece Police Chief Drew Forsythe says a team of Greece, State Police and Federal investigators developed a lead to the rental car and tracked it to Montgomery. Alabama authorities pulled the car over as they saw a woman leaving a residential address in it, and found the children moments later.
Chief Forsythe says the woman is being questioned and preparations are being made to bring the children back to the foster home they were kidnapped from on Monday. The chief would not comment on the children’s father, Dimitri Cash Sr, except to say that police still want to talk with him. He would not comment on the evidence that led to the rental car and Alabama, except to say that part of it was blood found at the home on English Road and quickly processed by the Monroe County Crime Lab.
