The 150-game slate will be the most since 1964.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Both Triple-A East and Triple-A West leagues have added six games to the end of the regular season in 2022, Minor League Baseball announced on Thursday.
The additions are to get the end of the Triple-A season closer to the finish of the Major League schedule, which goes until October 2.
Rochester will play three games at Buffalo from Thursday, Sept. 22 to Saturday, Sept. 24 and host Worcester Monday, Sept. 26 to Wednesday, Sept. 28. The first two games of both series will be at 6:05 p.m. while the finales will both start at 1:05 p.m. The games against the Bisons make that series six games as the Red Wings already will be in the Queen City for three games at the beginning of that week.
The 150-game schedule will be the longest by any Triple-A league since the International League played 154 and the Pacific Coast League played 156 games in 1964. The Wings won the Governors’ Cup that season.
Rochester opens the 2022 season with a six-game series at Toledo on Tuesday, April 5 at 4:05 p.m. The Wings begin the home schedule on Tuesday, April 12 at 6:05 p.m. against the Buffalo Bisons.
