A Mendon man is facing manslaughter, reckless use of a firearm and other charges after allegedly shooting a fellow hunter in Quebec Province,
Quebec Provincial Police say John Tompkins was a member of a hunting party that included a man named Todd Herrington. They were hunting in Bearn, which is a community in the northwestern part of the province. Herrington was shot and killed by Tompkins under circumstances police say are still unclear. The shooting happened early Saturday.
Tompkins is free on bail with orders to be back in a Quebec courtroom on August 27th
