A reported threat at McQuaid Jesuit High School involved a 13-year-old middle school student, but Brighton Police say there is no imminent danger to the school or its students.

McQuaid Principal Adam Barber says a student reported to the Middle School’s dean on Tuesday that he had concerns that a classmate might be a threat. An investigation found the student had drawn up a list of his classmates. Barber says they aren’t sure what the student intended when he drew up his list. The school and police concluded the issue would be handled by counseling, supervised through Family Court.

Brighton Police Chief Mark Henderson says rumors had already gotten onto social media and bounced around at the speed of the internet, dictating a news conference to set the record straight.
