Dozens of Monroe Community College faculty members hissed and waved signs as the MCC board expressed its support for College President Ann Kress.
The faculty and union employees were at Monday night’s board meeting to push their “no confidence” vote in Kress and her leadership team. In a vote last week, 88 percent of the Faculty Senate and Association members who voted expressed no confidence, saying Kress has created a hostile work environment and is leading the college in the wrong direction.
Kress and the faculty are involved in a contract impasse, with a mediator brought in to try and resolve the issue.
The MCC Board issued a statement saying “We commend President Kress in her leadership and her efforts to maintain a strong institution for our students and the greater Rochester Community.”
