Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley says Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren’s husband, Timothy Granison, was involved in what she calls a “mid level drug ring” infecting the City of Rochester.

Doorley says more than two kilos of crack and powder cocaine, two illegal pistols and a rifle were recovered in raids on half-a-dozen different addresses around the city yesterday and today. One of the unregistered handguns was found at the Mayor’s home on Woodman Park.

Doorley says the police raids were the result of a seven-month investigation that relied on wiretaps. She says Timothy Granison was not originally the target of the investigation, but it became clear through the wiretaps that he was involved.

Mayor Barry Chase of the New York State Police says Gransion was arrested while driving a car that troopers pulled over on Birch Crescent in Rochester. He was in possession of “a large amount of cocaine,” and was arraigned Thursday in City Court on drug possession and weapon charges.  Six other people were arrested at locations around the city.

DA Doorley wouldn’t comment on whether the mayor was a part of her investigation. State Police say they have reached out to Mayor Warren through her attorney and want to talk with her about the unregistered handgun found in her home. Doorley says more arrests are likely and more charges may be filed.
