The City of Rochester says if the president does send immigrants seeking asylum to Rochester, it will welcome any and all who arrive here.
Mayor Lovely Warren released a statement Monday saying Rochester is proud of its status as a Sanctuary City. As the home of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony, the mayor says diversity is one of our greatest strengths and we believe immigrants have much to contribute to our community.
President Trump tweeted on Monday that asylum-seekers who can no longer be held in immigration custody will be bused to Sanctuary Cities around the country.
