Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and her estranged husband, Timothy Granison, both pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges including criminal possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child and failing to secure firearms in a dwelling.
All three charges were brought against the couple last week by a Monroe County Grand Jury.
Search warrants were served in May at a number of Rochester addresses in connection with a drug ring. Timothy Granison was a suspect in that investigation, and a search of the couple’s Woodman Park home turned up a rifle and an illegal handgun. The couple’s ten-year-old daughter was home alone at the time.
Mayor Warren’s Attorney, Joe Damelio, said the charges should not have been filed against her. He said the mayor is not a drug dealer and did not possess guns.
