Rochester begins its 2-match Florida slate in Orlando before heading to Tampa Bay Saturday.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Rhinos begin their two-game Florida road trip on Wednesday as they face Orlando City B in the brand-new state-of-the-art Orlando City Stadium.
This is the third all-time appearance between the two clubs, with OCB’s inception in 2016. OCB won the first meeting 2-1, while the two teams played to a scoreless draw in Rochester.
The Rhinos come into the match as one of only four teams with one loss or less in the USL. They sit in 5th-place in the East (4-1-3; 15 pts) with several games in hand on the rest of the Eastern Conference. OCB (4-4-3; 15 pts) sit in 6th-place and are 3-1-1 in their last 5 games.
Tomas Gomez has been a rock in the back, only allowing 1 goal in the previous four games for the Rhinos, and is tied for second in the USL in shutouts with four.
Monroe Community College graduate, and 2016 MLS Superdraft 1st-round draft pick Hadji Barry, scored last week in OCB’s 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
The Rhinos have been led in attack by CDM Wal Fall with 3 goals. Christiano Francois and Kenardo Forbes are tied for the team lead with 2 assists.
OCB is spearheaded by Pierre Da Silva, who is third in the USL with 5 assists. Richie Laryea and Albert Dikwa are tied for the team lead with 3 goals.
The Rhinos then will head back north to face the New England Revolution of the MLS in the Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup on June 14.
The Rhinos finally come back to Rochester for their June 17 clash against the Ottawa Fury for Rochester Real Beer Night, presented by Moe’s Southwest Grill.
