A man used his legally owned concealed weapon to apprehend the man who attempted to carjack his vehicle with his wife inside on Saturday. It happened at the Delta Sonic Car Wash on West Henrietta Road.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect jumped into a victim’s car while he was out preparing to pump gas and began to drive away with the victim’s wife in the passenger seat. The victim chased the car and pulled out his gun, opening the driver’s door as the suspect briefly stopped. The suspect then reversed and dragged the victim, pinning him to the car before shifting into drive again and slamming into another car.
The victim then held the suspect at gunpoint as witnesses ran to help. Nobody was seriously injured, although the victim was treated for minor injuries.
The MCSO says 33-year-old Keith Dobles was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery and second-degree assault. He’s being held in the Monroe County Jail on $20,000 bail. More charges may be filed.
