The man accused of assaulting a Rochester Police Officer who was answering a domestic disturbance call has been ruled mentally competent to stand trial.
Keith Williams faces charges of aggravated attempted murder, second degree attempted murder, aggravated assault of a police officer and assault. He’s accused of stabbing officer Denny Wright on October 4th, stabbing him repeatedly in the face and causing him to lose his sight.
Monroe County DA Sandra Doorley is prosecuting, and say she’ll be ready to rebut the defense’s argument that Williams suffers from mental health issues.
