Rochester police say a man spotted with a gasoline can who appeared to be trying to start a fire on North Plymouth Avenue told them he wanted to set himself on fire.
The man had poured gasoline on himself.
He was detained and sent to the hospital for evaluation. During the detention he tried to hit his head on the gurney and had to be restrained. There were no injuries.
