A 26-year-old Rochester man was shot and wounded when he ran away from a man who tried to rob him at gunpoint on the west side.
Police say the victim was walking up Hobart Street off of West Avenue Sunday morning when another man dressed in dark clothing pulled a handgun and tried to hold him up. He ran off, heard shots and felt pain. He ran to the West Avenue Tops and called 911.
Police say he was hit in the lower body and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. They’re looking for the gunman.
